History
A retainer of Fintan since a young age, the two were raised side by side to ensure Doran’s loyalty. Doran’s father had been a gladiator from the Revolving Seas, given to Fintan’s father as a gift when he visited. Fintan’s father immediately freed Doran’s father upon returning to Lunis, and was repaid with a loyal ally. Conversations between Doran and his father rarely touched upon his father’s past before that.
Many in the royal court however, saw only the foreign blue of his skin rather than his closeness with Fintan. Even those who respected him called him a foreigner, despite being born and raised in Lunis. In turn Doran had little love for the nobles outside the royal family, and supported Aodh’s silencing of Fintan’s critics.
Doran faithfully served Fintan until he was assassinated, which was considered by many the event that made the Bloody Day, which took place a mere month later, inevitable. Some say Doran’s vengeful spirit took part in the fighting on that day, or go as far to say he avenged himself upon the assassin who killed him.
Between the memories and regrets carried by Fintan, Eamon, and Aodh, Doran’s presence is felt at the Grand Festival. It may be a stronger presence than any realize. Still, how would have things changed if he had not died?
Fighting Style
Doran fights with the same Dancing Blade style as Fintan and Eamon, but without any sort of fire ability. He makes up for that with his bow and arrows, the classic weapon for samurai fighting at a distance.
While Fintan and Eamon favor specific ranges, Doran can fight just as well at any distance from the opponent, so long as his sword can reach. As Fintan’s protector he does not have the luxury of deciding his battles and opponents, so he focused on being able to adapt to any circumstance. But he never imagined someone would target him specifically.
If you’ve unlocked Doran, then Side Story: Father and Son is also unlocked.
