We’re now in the shortest month of the year. For me January felt both short and long. This time I’m going to try and hold back on detailing exactly what I’m going to write this month and see how that goes with people.
Monthly Recap
Pikmin was a little difficult to write about, but I’m glad I did. It’s a fun and unique series that I want more people to know about. I’m eagerly anticipating Pikmin 4.
I was very nervous about this one, but it seems to have turned out all right. I did hold back a little on parts that I thought would be too combative, but the sentiment remained the same, just less aggressive.
Quiahuitl’s story has started and I’m excited for people to see more of it. She’s a character I’ve had for some time but had yet to properly dig into, and her part of the world is a region I enjoy worldbuilding for.
Updates
For Battles Beneath the Stars, I’ve gotten the urge to try and give it a logo and cover of its own. As part of that I wanted to make something like a character select screen, but I can’t draw characters. So instead I drew symbols representing them. Here is the current result of my efforts.
While not perfect, I’m somehow content with the state of the character symbols at the moment. Though whether it’s presentable enough to put in thumbnail images for BBtS chapters is another thing.
Next step is to work on the presentation of the title itself. I need to look into fonts, but it’s very difficult to think of what kind of font I should look for. Something that says both ‘fantasy’ and ‘fighting game’ ideally.
In terms of these Monthly Reports, I read something advising against describing what you’re going to do in advance. That made me decide to try not bringing up the subjects for the upcoming month. And in order to get reader opinions on what you prefer, here’s a quick poll.
That’s all for now, thank you for your support.
I stay away from the "this is what I'm going to do this month" posts as well. For some folks I'm sure it works out, but for me it usually leads to some kind of disappointment.
