Oh, it’s October. Not my favorite month, as I’ve never been a fan of horror or a lot of the general Halloween aesthetic.
Recap of last month
I hit over one hundred subscribers in September, you might have heard from all the celebrating I did. Like the entire post I sent out with both some reflection and a comedic crossover between all my writing.
After playing through Everhood I knew I wanted to write about it here, so that’s what I did. I didn’t expect to have quite so many cases of writing about something I just experienced. That bit of impulsiveness keeps things fun.
I was very happy with the responses to my examination on why I was interested in becoming a gaming youtuber. The interesting thing about writing something built around self reflection is that sometimes a realization happens as you’re doing the final check just an hour before publication. Which happened here.
Also after publication there was a slight technical issue. I hadn’t set it to, but it used the thumbnail of an included youtube video as the article thumbnail. I left it as for a while, but felt that using someone else’s video thumbnail as my own article thumbnail wasn’t right. So it’s fixed now. Not sure if anyone else took issue with it, but I did.
This month
Nisha’s story in Battles Beneath the Stars will be coming to a close, so following that will be the vote for the next story. I’ve also realized it will likely help people reset if I send out the prologue again before the vote, maybe even send it out at the same time as the vote.
With the hiatus in Battles Beneath the Stars I’ll hopefully have more time to work on some other fiction projects. For example I might have something ready around Halloween, though it isn’t really a Halloween special. Then there’s other projects that have been put on the back burner for longer than I’ve liked.
Everything here is a balancing act of sorts. Having to divide work on different pieces of writing to keep up with deadlines while also trying to carve out time for things not on a set schedule.
That’s all for now. Thank you for being subscribed to the Warthog Report.
I don't know if I have already said this, but congratulations on 100 subs!
