I looooved Get Smart as a kid. I watched it on Nick at Nite. It enjoyed a brief little renaissance then--or at least it was popular enough again to generate some new merch. My dad bought me a functional shoe phone for a birthday. I think I was probably a weird kid.
Welcome to the 'weirdly into Get Smart for how young they are' club. Having an actual shoe phone is cool. This is making me realize I've never actually seen Get Smart on air, only through recordings.
I really like that you’re trying to introduce younger generations to gems from the past.
Now, I want to figure out a way to end this by saying, “Missed it by *THAT* much,” but I can’t think of an appropriate lead in. Oh well. I guess I’m the one who missed it by that much.
Loved this trip back in time. I never watched Get Smart, but it does seem right up my alley. I really enjoy shows and movies that came out before I was born, especially 70's and 80's action films. Something about the practical effects that made it seem like something special was being captured on film.
The special effects are definitely dated in the show at times, but there's a kind of charm to seeing obviously outdated stuff like that, similar to early 3d animation.

Get Smart was great.

I also wanted to throw in more catch phrases from the show into the post, but couldn't find a way to do it naturally aside from the intro.
