The character and plot framing device for this game sounds both bonkers and amazing at the same time. I never played it, but I do think there is a lot that can still be explored with public IPs that are Lovecraftian or from things like Oz.
It is a very wild game. I find works that rely on public domain to be a bit of a mixed bag personally, mainly when I know what they're drawing from since I can take issue with how they've been used. But I at least get the impression that the developers did their research for this game and I'm unfamiliar with the source material for most of it.
