Welcome to another month with the Warthog Report.
Housekeeping
As mentioned in the author note for the latest Battles Beneath the Star chapter, the Warthog Report now has paid subscription options. This is simply for those who want to show their support. For now nothing will be paywalled, though there is a high chance some sort of perk will be devised later.
From now on the Warthog Report will also be uploading on a schedule. Monthly Reports will come out on the first day of the month, Let Me Talk To You About will update on the second Tuesday of the month, and The Warthog Blog will update on the fourth Tuesday.
You might be wondering about the gap with the third Tuesday. I have some ideas about potential uses for it, like cross-promotion or monthly threads. Or I could leave it empty. We’ll see what wins out.
Battles Beneath the Stars will update every Thursday. I’m also considering adding a section for other works of fiction that could cover any release gaps Battles Beneath the Stars runs into, so that readers will still have something on Thursdays. Ideally that wouldn’t happen, but contingencies are good to have.
Monthly Recap
Interested in a game that blends classic literature, lovecraft, turn based strategy, shooters, and steampunk together in one package? Then you’ll appreciate this write up on Code Name Steam.
For the general blog post I decided to go for a more informative approach, where I talked about the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca and tried to set the record straight on him, since most fiction is determined to demonize him.
Two new chapters of Hákon’s story went up last month as well. The tournament is starting to get a bit more heated, maybe too heated for the dragon of ice.
Plans for November
This month Hákon’s story will be coming to a close, and there will be another voting period for which character to follow. Since Hákon and Aris tied in the last vote, Aris will be next and the vote determines who goes after that. This offset lets me stay ahead of schedule with writing.
For the other posts, you can look forward to hearing about a board game featuring Disney villains and another Super Smash Bros post, this time on a piece of its development history.
That’s all for now, see you in the next post.
