With this sentence the Warthog Report has begun. I started this newsletter so I can have some fun with showing my process and trying out various forms of writing, while also reaching out to readers.
Now it’s time for a proper introduction.
About Me
I’ve been making up stories in my head for a long time.
It started with imagining scenes for books and video games, my siblings and I even created our own narrative for Super Smash Bros Melee where Princess Peach was the main villain.
With that origin story fanfiction could be considered my ‘first genre.’ For me, writing and video games have always been intertwined focuses.
Currently, my main project is a fantasy world of my own creation, Hybridis. It’s a sandbox for all sorts of stories, ranging from short stories to generational epics.
I’ve been trying to get one of those short stories published, but no luck so far.

However, even discounting my fanfiction, I do have one publication of sorts.
As part of a two-week gamejam I was required to post the final product, in my case a visual novel titled Lovely Spirits, to itch.io. Which means that you, the reader, can download it for yourself here.
Naturally, with two weeks of development time it isn’t the most polished, but for a project made by college students within that short time frame I’d like to believe it’s somewhat impressive.
It may be a complete package, but I do think every now and then about revisiting it for an expanded 2.0 edition, assuming the team who helped me make it is interested.
Even without that, I have more ideas for its world.

What this newsletter will provide
The Warthog Report aims to update at least once per month, potentially more if the needs arises.
One thing you can expect to see is updates on my worldbuilding for Hybridis.
In addition to sharing my updates on World Anvil, I’ll be talking about my worldbuilding process and what I want to work on next. For now, you can check out my introduction to the world as a whole.
I’m prone to rambling on and on about random subjects I’m interested in, so I’ll be channeling that into blog posts. Generally the subject will be video games, books, and mythology, or some combination of those three.
It’s possible that the blog posts will be hosted on my website, but in that case the newsletter will provide a paragraph or two of additional insight into the posts rather than merely handing you a link.
[A niche meme about the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca. The first blog post involving mythology will probably be about Aztec mythology specifically.]
Additionally, I’ll be posting some fiction here, generally in a serialized format.
I have an unconventional project to start off with, a script for a fighting game (set in Hybridis) where I don’t expect to be making the full video game anytime soon.
After the overview/introduction, I’ll be posting each character’s story in chapters, covering about two to three ‘fights’ per update.
Lastly, I’m eager to get the questions needed to have a Q&A section for this newsletter. Lovely Spirits, Hybridis, the blogs, the exclusive fiction, ask about anything.
I’d also appreciate feedback on the Warthog Report itself, particularly in regards to formatting.
Thank you for reading this. I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your support.
Excited to see where this goes!
